One thing I've never understood about people is their assumption that people in the limelight and everything that happens to them is fair game for discussion and speculation in public. I know this will happen regardless, but to presume that you know better about what to do than the parties involved is the thing that makes my head hurt the most. It's the same whether it's Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston or Bill and Hillary Clinton. It's not like there aren't normal human marriages that don't survive after infidelity--indeed, some of them are ones you'd never expect (I will be doing a post about Schuyler and Rob later this week or next week). And hearing people say stuff like "She should have left him" or "Why are they still together" is bothersome to me. Also, that is the best ending sentence for any blog post ever.

I didn't know you also read Rob's blog! I'm so excited for the book.

I've been reading Rob for a long time--since we were Holics. I remember when his journal had flat HTML files and a notify list when he updated and everything. God I'm old.

I don't get the scrutiny either.
