Hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about. The list goes on and on, just to warn you. It's kind of a pleasant surprise, but FYI.

And now I go to ground to finish my degree project so I can, y'know, graduate. See y'all later.

Dear Real Men Wear Suits*,

Not that I don't appreciate you bringing me fine men in elegant couture to my RSS reader without having to lift a finger, but may I gently suggest a temporary moratorium on pictures of the following gentlemen:

  • Anybody from NuTrek except for John Cho

  • Lee Pace

  • Jim Parsons

  • Anybody from Lord of the Rings

There are so many other hot guys out there, begging to have their pictures posted on your Tumblr! And while I'm making suggestions, how's about a little bit of melanin up in your blog so we can appreciate men in suits of all sorts, hmm?

I'm just sayin' it's something to consider,
Me

(We will, for now, not discuss the social constructions around masculinity and suits and why real men must wear suits or if this means that real women, whatever the hell that means, can't wear suits or what, because, y'know, Fuck yeah, men in suits.)

(Ignore creepy secret, I'm just too lazy to find a Real Screencap)

Oh. My. Gawd. I always keep forgetting that Claudia Black and Morena Baccarin were in SG:1 together. Can I just watch the eps they're in and skip the rest?

Things I have learned tonight:

1. China MiƩville is just as hot in person as he is in pictures. His nose is much more formidable though.
2. His favorite Buffy character is Anya.
3. My crush on China MiƩville is much larger than I thought and I would like to make him my drinking buddy (this is not a euphemism). And he is super-nice and seemed genuinely thrilled to have people come out and see him.

I AM SUCH A TRENDY MOMMYBLOGGER LOOK I WROTE A CREEPY OVERSHARING ARTICLE FOR THE NYT
but yeah. Michael Chabon? I would totally hit that like a freight train.

[personal profile] cow
I'd hit that so hard we'd make the NYT
which is, apparently, not hard

pearwaldorf
But only if you're actually married to him. I doubt we'd get articles written about how we slept with Michael Chabon into the NYT. (note to universe: I would like to test this hypothesis plz)

[personal profile] cow
The universe will schedule your three-way with Chabon and the barista from Medina just to test that theory you're not into open relationships

I WOULD LIKE TO TEST THIS HYPOTHESIS PLZ

lmao

Seriously, that barista? Worth moving to Vancouver for. The coffee and waffles with lavender chocolate are just bonuses.

In that way, I wonder whether our brains aren't becoming less like indexes and more like librarians. The situation isn't quite as Peter presents it: The key skill isn't knowing where to find information. It's knowing where to find where to find information.

So I've had a gigantic (blog)crush on been reading Ezra Klein for years, but that statement above just makes me go <3<3. He was at The American Prospect for years until he moved to the Washington Post to needle the crotchety old bastards there. He's smart and incisive, knows disturbing amounts about health care policy, and likes Sichuanese food. So you should read him.

Also, you should download the Barsuk and Sub Pop Amazon samplers. They're free and they're fantastic and help me not look hopelessly out of date when people ask me what the cool kids are into these days.
