Feb. 4th, 2007 08:53 pmSo apparently there's some crazy group calling themselves the Washington Defense of Marriage Alliance that's trying to put a ballot initiative that would require (hetero, of course) married couples to have children within three years of marriage. They also want to put initiatives up that would disallow couples with children from divorcing and making having children together the equivalent of marriage. Of course, it's utter silliness, and if it does get passed it would be struck down by the Washington supreme court, thus nullifying their previous ruling (which is the point), but I do not think such Colbertean humor would register in most people's brains. Not that I can really blame them, because there are wingnuts that probably would do this if they thought it could pass.
