Strangeness encountered in applying for shitty mall jobs:

x Unearthly wailing coming out of The Disney Store. Was unclear whether or not sounds came from irritated children or shades of former employees.
x Hot Topic requiring accountability of ten years of work history. Unclear whether it meant they expected to employ lots of middle-aged slackers or hedge their bets with child labor.
x GNC's mini application, approximately the size of a piece of paper from a scratch pad. Will presume that resume will be required.

The other day, I was at the mall and walked into the Hot Topic and then walked right back out because of the godawful music they were playing with a girl who could definitely not sing in. Yuck. I miss the "pretentious cover album" days of Hot Topic's music selection.

Agh. Totally. I miss when they were all "OMG we are liek soooo alternative" and sold nothing but Manson t-shirts. I saw them selling Death Cab and Postal Service CDs at one the other day and I think my head damn near exploded.

I'm fairly close to the
employees that work at
Hot Topic here at the mall.
Their music selections are
very very similar to my own.
Except for Matts, his is the
the screamo/punk/obnoxious
type of music. Otherwise,
their music is quite enjoyable.
the music at Pac Sun is by
far the more unbearable of the two.
