Aug. 6th, 2003 08:58 pmDeanies and people considering voting for Dean: I highly recommend reading a series of articles Time has put up. (I would read them quickly, because I think you have to pay for archived articles) It's quite enlightening, especially the part about how he thinks marriage is a heterosexual institution. And the part about how the health care for children thing was financed by under-reimbursing Medicare treatment.
Dean is not the savior of the Democratic Party. He's just another fucking politican. I'm not sure which is worse.

Date: 2003-08-06 10:27 pm (UTC)imho, this makes kerry and dean look worse than they really are. it's no secret that a (much too) large portion of americans still view marriage as man-woman, as i believe this was intended to mean. however, neither push for equal marriage rights. i've come to think that, despite this being one of my biggest issues, dean still does a bit for the lgbt community. the candidate i really enjoy is carol moesley-braun, but unfortunately, it'd be "throwing a vote away" and dean's my next pick. sigh. if only liberal-as-fuck dems could win.
