Upstairs on break, I caught the tail end of Martha Stewart wherein she makes strawberry sherbet that I'd like to try (don't scoff; it was an easy recipe that didn't involve fig branches artistically arranged). She had these metal ice cube trays that break apart when you pull a lever. I'd never seen anything like them before. Pondering this new yuppie appliance, I mention this to Coworker. She looks at me strangely and said, "Dude, those things are old. They're from the 50's and 60's. You can usually find them in Goodwill in the ice cube tray section." It's small things like that more than anything which creates a culture gap for me, and also proves that anything old enough becomes new again eventually.

oh, yeah, I remember those ice cube trays, we used to have some when I was little. they're pretty cool, except they can be kinda hard to break apart and the metal part is cooooooold.
