For those that are curious about the Dreamwidth phenomenon, an expanded and revised comment I made to somebody that I am reproducing as it was in a locked post:
Livejournal has, in various ways, been hostile to fandom and those who write fanfiction. They've also not been particularly forthcoming and transparent in how people can avoid these getting in trouble, leaving enforcement to the whims of whoever investigates the complaints submitted to LJ Abuse (cf. Strikethrough '07, and this, and other fandom kerfuffles that I cannot remember exactly but have left their impression). On one level it's totally lol underage furry slash, on another it's about freedom of expression to the extent legally allowed.
Dreamwidth is a company that has positioned itself as fandom-friendly and much more inclusive and transparent than Livejournal.
synecdochic seems to know what she's doing and is committed to the project, so I'm willing to give them a shot.
If you're looking for more flowery and impassioned rhetoric that is pro-Dreamwidth, try this section of the wiki.
Does it sound good? I've got three invite codes. Comment with an email address (screened) and I will send one to you.
