daegaer writes a Joan of Arc/Aziraphale snippet that's sweet and sad and lovely.
Nine Inch Nails has made their new four album epic instrumental thingymabober CC licensed. I think they are the most prominent artists to support CC licensing (sorry, Cory Doctorow and Jonathan Coulton don't count). The official(!) torrent is here at The Pirate Bay. The official site is down because it's been hammered by traffic. I haven't liked Nine Inch Nails in years, but I'm going to download the new album to support this endeavor. And because it's free.
You mean black people don't all vote the same way? Post-racial, transcending gender society my ass.
Quaker gets fired for modifying loyalty oath of university. First off, what kind of McCarthy-era bullshit is this? If I'd had to sign a loyalty oath to work at the University of Washington, I would have found another job. And apparently every state employee in California has to do this, which is insane. Elected officials, sure. Dogcatcher or math teacher, no.
A steampunk Mac Mini, made as a wedding present. I want one. Really really bad.
