So, that's it.

I don't really have a whole lot to say. It wraps things up well. Things and characters don't feel forced or shoehorned into things they shouldn't have been. I'm glad Harry had to fight for his knowledge. I was most pleased with the way Rowling handled his relationship with Dumbledore. I know the whole realizing your idols and respected authority figures are not perfect thing is part of growing up, but I don't feel it's done as often as it should be. (Or maybe I"m just not reading the right books.)

I'm kind of eyeroll-y in regards to the whole how everybody ends up together thing (and I am kind of amusingly disappointed Tonks didn't end up as Remus's beard after all), but I can live with it. But my sekrit dreams of scads of Harry/Ron mpreg babies have been completely shot! There are parts that are so very "I can see where you picked from X author, Y series" but what is more surprising to me is that I don't really fucking care. I love these characters, and I will be sad to see them leave my life. Fandom closure is always so fucking hard.

Now bulleted points of squee and commentary (and exclaimation points):

* Fred! I feel bad for all the Weasleys, but George! What will he do without his partner in crime? :(:(
* Dobby!
* Remus and Tonks! Why does the house-elf get an onscreen death but they don't? That was kind of deeply lame.
* Neville! Neville!!!! So much <3<3<3<3
* Professor McGonagall! I missed you so much!
* I never thought I would feel that bad for Snape. Poor Severus. He got a really shitty death. And also, the Lily thing? The crazy little fangirls were right! Or JKR has been spending waaaay too much time reading HP communities on Livejournal.
* Epilogue was silly and pointless. I know there's the whole flower name convention, but after seeing Rose used as a Mary Sue name in so many goddamn fics it set my teeth on edge.
* I really wish we'd seen more of the Dursleys, especially Dudley. You can't just do a complete 180 for him (okay, I suppose it was more a 120 degree turn) and not expect people to wonder.
