OMG OMG! Stills from The Golden Compass have been released! Daniel Craig looks kind of silly with a beard, but I think he will do well as Lord Asriel. And Nicole Kidman is absolutely perfect as Miss Coulter. I don't really know who Sam Riggs is, but he looks perfect for Lee Scoresby (although in my head Lee does not look quite so much like Mark Twain). I know I was all prepared to hate this movie because they've taken out all the meat of the story, but my god, it's so shiny. I can't wait.

Something I've always detested when they make movies out of books I love is that often they cast people that look NOTHING like either the book says they do or how I imagined them.
This one? Looks not so bad, cast-wise. At least there's that, even if it's godawful otherwise. :-)
