Sep. 1st, 2005 02:54 pmThe United States is the most powerful country in the world. It is one of the richest countries in the world. So why the fuck do things like this happen?
Oh, that's right. Despite being the most powerful country in the world, we can't stand the thought of anybody receiving anything they might not have paid for, because the poor are undeserving of anything but contempt and scorn. I mean, if they were really fine upstanding people, they wouldn't be poor now, would they?
I don't want to be able to believe in an afterlife so good people can get their rewards, but so people who have done bad can get their punishment. Because gods know they're not going to get it in this life.
