I am one of those lucky people. Not in the win-the-Powerball-jackpot sense, but in the small fortunes little bits of luck when I desperately need it type way. Like the $900 check that came from the insurance company of the guy who hit my car and then was never able to be located again during my period of unemployment, or the sudden change in deadline for a critical course paper. That sort of thing. And other people must be like this. I wish there was a way one could pool this luck and give it to Kerry or the Democrats, just for a little bit. I'll gladly endure stubbed toes, small burns, and lost bus passes until November 2 if it means I don't have to live with that smirking frat-boy chimp of a President for another four years. I know a lot of people would do the same.
