It really bothers me when white Canadian girls try to do the ethnic pop song thing. Especially when it's bad. (I do fully endorse white Canadian girls lending vocals to ethnic-influenced ambient pop, however.)

That is all.

d00d, Tara MacLean's first album was so much better. (Side note: I saw her live at Lilith Fair when I was 15. She's a much better live performer than she is a studio performer-- she's got a really strong, expressive live voice. Plus, she's really hot. I got her to autograph a poster, which is somewhere in my parents' house in Portland. Oh, Tara...)

Delerium, on the other hand-- the longer they continue, the less impressed I am with them. I think the discontent really started when they replaced Kristy Thirsk, their former poster girl, with Leigh Nash. Oh, the shame...

Passenger wasn't her first album? d00d. Can you burn me a copy? (I also swear that she stole a drum loop from David Gray, because they sound EXACTLY THE SAME, but I digress.)

And as for Delerium, I mourn the lost golden era of Semantic Spaces and Karma. All of their stuff before that was really crappy goth electroclash, and Poem is where they finally jumped the shark. Chimera is damn-near unlistenable, from what I've downloaded. So of course I'm borrowing it from the library. It does have music videos on the bonus DVD however, and that's spiff.

Nobody puts out good ambient electronica anymore. Or if they do, they make it really fucking hard to find. That is teh sad.

Sure. She's got an album and an EP before that, and I will be happy to burn that for you.

I didn't know Delerium released anything before Semantic Spaces. I thought that was their debut.

And you're right. Where did the good ambient electronica music go?

Yay! Thank you.

And yes, Delerium used to be an electronic goth whatsis. I have an early album of theirs and a download of the Euphoric EP, which is really shitty electroclash dance music stuff. Rhys and Fulber used to have a ton of side projects, of which Conjure One is the latest, that are OK. The stuff is really hard to find though, unfortunately, and it's all out of print. Meh.

I think it went all trendy when "Silence" hit and now it's back to obscureness. That sucks.
