Vanity Fair profile of John Ashcroft

Vesides, it was immediately apparent to praying participants that the Deity's relationship to Ashcroft was of a special and particularly intimate order. His wife, Janet, he explained to the small group, had recently been bumped by an airline but was rewarded with extra frequent-flier miles and a free ticket, leading a delighted Ashcroft to conclude, "God is working for her."

Well then. I found 20 bucks on the sidewalk once, but I didn't think it was anything more than a stroke of extraordinary good luck. (God that man is scary.)

i especially love how it says "...the Deity's relationship to Ashcroft was of a special and particularly intimate order..." and then goes to talk about how an airline gave her treatment that they'd give most disgruntled people bumped off airplanes. c'mon. we all watch airline. that's what they *do* ... ::eyeroll:: oh yes, god was working for her there. ppttthhhh.

[hey... i hope you don't mind that i added you to my friends list. ^__^;; ...]
