So I went to the slightly overpriced breakfast cafe on Clinton Street sandwiched in between the worker-owned craptastic record store that sells all sorts of reactionary publications and the not-quite-not-authentic-Mexican restaurant on Saturday. Both places had Indymedia posters advertising the Bush protests (why the fuck does he always come HERE to fundraise? Portland doesn't exactly strike me as a Republican mecca). In said poster was a swastika in place of the S in Bush. I wanted to march down to Indymedia's Portland headquarters and do some beating down on some fascist progressives. I'm not saying the man's hands are clean, but he hasn't exactly embarked on the systematic elimination of an entire group of people from the planet. Cody took it much worse (on an intellectual level; very little gets him riled up emotionally) than I did, considering he had family who died in the camps.

It's shit like this that keeps me from being involved in anything activist, because what most people consider activism and/or changing the world for the better is simply the imposition of their worldview on rest of society. I, of course, am guilty of this view as all people are, but hopefully I'm not an obnoxious prick about it. I do expect you to cut me down to size if I am, of course.

I'm going to the Howard Dean rally at PSU on the 24th. $deity help me and give me the strength not to kill some of his supporters, because I know they'll piss me off.
