Most of the (tiny amount of) Japanese I know, I learned because I wanted to understand what she was singing. Based on the little comprehension I have, I still love her to death.

Her lyrics are v. easy to find translated, if you get curious...

She's one of my favorites, too. Incredible voice, and based on what I can comprehend of Japanese lyrics, hers are much better than most J-pop stars'. She writes all her own songs too, which is more than can be said for many.
