Amen.

Of course, I think the TiVo would just explode trying to figure out stuff Cody and I would like. We're too eclectic.

These are the same people that think their tamagotchi's behavior is unique.

I'm a little confused, because from what I know of the TiVo's suggestions recordings, it only goes by the thumbs-ups and thumbs-down, not by what you actually record. Adam Carolla had a problem with that, his TiVo would record M*A*S*H and Little House on the Prairie for him and he didn't get it. He didn't have any thumbs set, so the machine just recorded innocuous widely-liked shows that are frequently on during off-hours. It's not human logic- it's machine logic. People read way too much into their reflections in the computer screen.

Also, I took a gander at your and Cody's interests, and I'd predict a TiVo would peg you two pretty quick. Three major catagories: Cooking shows, British comedies, and anything with subtitles.

:::reads over all that::: I have spent way too many thought cycles on this topic, haven't I? Especially since I don't even HAVE one of the blasted things.

I wrote a journal entry a long, long time ago when I was forced to watch ads about TiVo for hours on end at work one day (it was on the televisions right across from my cashier's post) about how much the concept of it freaked me out. And still does.
