Good news: Tom Stoppard is doing the screenplay. Tom fucking Stoppard! *squeals in glee and bounces up and down*
Could go either way: New Line Cinema, the same distribution house for Lord of the Rings, is going to be taking care of the project. If they give it the same respect as Lord of the Rings, it will be all right. If not, it will be massive literary carnage and a lot of people will be pissed off.
Bad news: The director of Rush Hour is going to be directing it. "'It's kind of like Harry Potter [or] Lord of the Rings,' Ratner said." *hand, forehead* I am not hopeful. Where the fuck is Terry Gilliam when you need him?
