It is the contradiction between Washington’s not-so-hidden agenda and its publicly stated objectives that explains the power of the anti-war movement--and accounts for the agonies of Tony Blair.

This is what I've been trying to get at in explaining my mistrust for Bush. It's naive to assume that what he says is the sum of what he wants to do. Because of course there's no conflict of interest when Halliburton is the first contender to supply the building blocks of infrastructure when time for reconstruction comes.
