Hope me friends list!
Jul. 21st, 2008 07:04 pmI would like a bike for commuting and amusement purposes. My budget, at the very very highest, is $400. $150 or $200 is preferable. After hitting up a couple shops, it is apparent that it is a very bad time to try and find a bike, as gas is expensive and the weather is fabulous. What shall I do, dear readers?
1. Keep hitting up bike stores and hope a nice used bike in my size and price range shows up. This is complicated by the fact that I am short and 15" frames are hard to come by.
2. Buy this bike, which is way out of my budget and probably overkill for commuting and fun purposes. It also doesn't have fenders, which I really do need for when it gets rainy. But it is a reasonable price for everything it includes.
3. Get a shitty bike from Target or whatever and see if the bicycle commuting thing is even feasible. There are many hills here, and traffic scares me.
4. Get a new, reasonably priced bike in the upper part of budget range. What are some brands I should be looking at?
