Sep. 28th, 2002 05:24 pmYou know that guy who killed five people in a bank robbery in Nebraska? The trooper who botched a background check on him a week before killed himself. He is survived by six children and a wife (who probably doesn't work out of the house; raising six kids is a full-time job in itself). *sighs* Granted, I don't know what was going on in his head when he decided to shoot himself, but shouldn't responsiblity to his family precede any guilt he felt about what happened? Six children lost a father, his wife lost a husband, and the family just lost a major (perhaps the only) source of income. Sure, there are widows' pensions and social security, but I doubt it will be anywhere near close to what was brought home every month. Four people died in that bank robbery, true, but there are seven more people who are needlessly grieving because of an act of supreme selfishness.
