In light of pretty much, um, everybody doing friends list pruning, I have a question to ask. Is it really that farking important to people to have mutual friendage? Or are people's egos really that fragile that they need that extra little boost? It's nice to see people find me interesting (gods wonder why), but I don't necessarily feel obligated to reciprocate. And I SO do not mean that to sound as snobby as it does.

And then there are those people you just wish would get a clue. (Like the ex-boyfriend, who still has not gotten it through his thick head that Livejournal actually DOES have a delete journal feature so they don't languish, sad and abandoned, as his has. Go read his journal and IM me about how dumb and loserish you think he is. Maybe when I have some time I'll upload some old entries from my Scribble and see how much time I wasted on this idiot. [That just came out. I didn't mean it to. Ah well. *smirk*])

Well, I don't care, but you knew that. I have a bunch of people on my list who don't have me listed, and a couple dozen people list me whom I haven't added back and mostly have no intention of doing so. I list someone as a friend if I find their posts interesting, whether I know them personally or not, and if I feel comfortable knowing that they can read my friends-only posts.

What I don't get: People who add me, and then, when I don't add them back, take me off again, usually within a week or so. What, did I suddenly become so boring that you just couldn't take it anymore? Sheesh.
