I had no idea Phillip Pullman disliked the Narnia series so much. While now that I look back upon it (I read it when I was ten or something, I reread it when I was sixteen), The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe did nothing but beat you over the head with allegory (knowing Tolkien's dislike for allegory, I wonder how much he and Lewis got along regarding Narnia), I can hardly say that supporting the righteous and good fight is something people would not want their children learning. And as much as Pullman may deride the series, the very creation of the His Dark Materials trilogy owes much to Narnia in its very opposition.
