If we're honest, their stories weren't supposed to end this way. Their stories were supposed to end in the projects or somewhere back in the Philippines.

But their story becomes my story and follows me to grad school, corporate America and it's here with me now.
I seriously wonder if Obama's election (and all that it represents) frizzled the brains of so many conservatives that their reactions to Sotomayor's nomination are thus that much more batshit than normal (well, normal as in established baseline). In some ways I'm appalled, that one could say such things in public and stand behind them, but in others, it's gratifying to see these people circling the drain. I just wish they'd do it faster so we can get on to the real business.
