Ack. Good thing I went into work today. I may feel kind of eyerolly about my job at times, but it is kind of nice to know that I am actually needed. There is something satisfying about moving physical things around and seeing your colleagues go squee! when they get their new laptops that working at the life insurance company never did for me.

Portland is a little sadder now that [livejournal.com profile] starstealingirl, [livejournal.com profile] dharmabum, and [livejournal.com profile] following_bliss are scattered to the winds. No amount of banana ricotta pancakes topped with candied bacon(!!) at the Cricket Cafe will make up for this.

Dear Silicon Valley millionaires, here is my goddamn violin. Fuck off, move to Iowa, where a hundred large can get you a comfortable living and give me the rest.

Speaking of Silicon Valley millionaires and Portland (well, technically Beaverton), Brad Fitzpatrick has quit Six Apart. I can't say that I ever cared for Brad's style of management on LJ, but I must say it was tons better than the hamfisted WTFness that 6A has decided to make its standard in dealing with its user base. And that's all I have to say about the current kerfuffle.
