Called around for quotes to replace the knock sensor in the car. One place quoted me six hours of work and seven hundred dollars. There is nothing more infuriating than calling somebody, especially a mechanic, on their bullshit and having them cheerfully say "Yep, that's correct. It does cost that much and take that much time to replace it" when you know it doesn't. (For reference, I've had a mechanic take apart and put together the engine of my previous car in four hours.)

Have great and insistent urge to make a Mal and Serenity layout based upon a Death Cab for Cutie song. I think this puts me into an especial category of dorkitude.
