pearwaldorfLast night I composed a really brilliant post in my head about flaws in Lucas's conception of the Force and how it deviates from its Taoist origins and starts meandering into Theravada Buddhism and why Anakin truly is the balancer of the Force and thus the Savior of the Galaxy and not that whiny-ass punk Luke, but then I went to sleep and I lost it all when I stumbled into work this morning. So you just get lame-ass links.
The Force is a tool of Satan, which liek totally explains the Jesus dancing all Sambo/Jar-Jar style. Roooight.
That's just confusing. This (warning PDF link) is just dumb. It's a fucking coming of age classic hero quest. Of course there's going to be mythic elements common to many world religions including Christianity. Of course, Star Wars is a lot like The Matrix--it's really so vague that you can project anything you want onto it. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, because you have to make it up as you go along.
