I was driving in Vancouver today, and I saw a minivan with a sticker that declared "Abortion is mean."

*blink* Cutting in front of somebody in the express lane at the grocery store is mean. Stealing candy from kids on Halloween is mean. Shoving your sister on the playground is mean. Abortion is many things to many people, but to trivialize it like that just makes me freaking apopleptic. (At least the "abortions tickle" shirt is so offensive you can't help but laugh at it) And it's insulting and infantile and ten different kinds of AAAUGH that somebody would find it acceptable to display in public.

And now, something I've always been curious about:

I once had someone mention
to me something along the lines
of, "Man. I haven't been blown
like that since grade school."

I didn't think it was offensive.
Just odd, and kind of funny.
Not sure funny haha or funny queer,
either. ::shrug::

I think my line of work (criminal defense) gives me a unique perspective on this... because I actually DO see the (many, many) cases where there are children who get fucked in grade school. Maybe I'd have a different opinion if I worked at Planned Parenthood, or something. *ahem*
