If, according to this article, U2's net worth is estimated to be about 700 million, Bono's share would be (if split equitably) 175 million. I have no doubt he's worth more, however. According to some graphic I saw on CNN today at the gym, it costs about 300 dollars to feed eight African children for a year. By my calculations, that means Bono could feed about 4682272 African children for a year.
And, apparently it would cost 80 billion to feed, water, inoculate, and educate the desperately poor of the world. I think if we got the celebrities of the world to give up even a quarter of their salaries, we could go a long ways towards that amount.
