Two wonderfully cogent and articulate editorials for Kerry, one of which I expected (
John Scalzi) and one of which I sort of didn't (
The Economist). I mean, The Economist does not exist in a vacuum where money and economics are king, and it is aware of this, which makes it one of the best sources of news coverage in the world. But to see them endorsing a presidential candidate who would so obviously go against their centrally held tenets of free-marketry and economic libertariansim (more so than Bush, anyways) is a big fucking warning sign, to me, of how badly Bush has screwed it all up. They're not thrilled about Kerry by any means (the endorsement is sort of a back-handed compliment), but they recognize there's a need for change. And if it please God, the American people will too.
