Maybe it IS a gender divide thing, because every guy I've talked to cannot fathom the thought of Good Omens slash, but every girl who's read the book that I've asked about this is like, "Ohmygod it is SO there!" How curious.

Let me skew your sample. My father, a sixtysomething straight man, thinks Aziraphale and Crowley are So Doing It, or whatever the supernatural equivalent is.

(Of course, this is the same man who argues with me about my Weasleycest fanfic, not because it's Wrong, but because he thinks it's the wrong pairing. So. He's not precisely normal.)

I am so impressed. If my dad tried to talk to me about HP fanfiction of any stripe, Weasleycest or not, I think I would run out of the room screaming.

But all the guys I've polled about it have been young and hetero, so maybe the mechanism to recognize it Just Isn't There.

My dad has discussed fanfic, and even slash, with me before, but the IM from him that said, "Okay, no, incest maybe, but not Percy, he'd kill himself first" was a bit much.

...no, I don't know what's wrong with him, but I'm obviously not adopted.
