I am trying my best to not sound like a classist former-bougie-now-working-class git (that looks wrong) holier than thou, but I figured out part of the reason why my Western Civ prof assigned so much f$cking stuff. Boarding school. Oberlin. Privilege. I don't know if kids at private schools have nothing better to do than drop 150 bucks on books for one class and spend all their time reading, but Jebus H. Christ. And twenty-five dollars for a collection of Montaigne's essays. >.< I wish I hadn't sold my Penguins to Powell's now.
