Capital Punishment.
I've often wondered why, if life is so precious in the eyes of the government, people are put to death by the state?

We Americans are a bit schizophrenic, maintaining that life is precious and then sanctioning war and executions.

Is life precious or isn't it?
It would seem that in the eyes of most people that vengeance is precious and life is not.
Which is sad.

Amen, Moby. I'm not saying that it was necessarily right or wrong to kill McVeigh, but theoretically, what Moby says is true. If anything, I say the only people who are allowed to judge in such a heinous crime like this are the survivors and the family. Vigilantism it is, but I can't say the law's doing a spiffy job on its own.
