Yes, I am fucking bitter about not getting a sticker. BITTER. It was also really hard to find. I had to ask the disinterested white trash (I'm sorry, but it was TRUE) in the apartment complex next to where the place actually was. It's in a tiny little utility room in the senior center, and they had a sad lonesome touch-screen voting machine that made bizarre chattering noises when people were finished and four little cubicles where people filled out their little bubble-in ballots. With pen. After filling out so many damn Scantron sheets in university, it feels wrong to bubble-in with pen. WRONG, y'all. It almost makes me miss the punch cards in Vancouver, which are so much quicker and easier to tabulate as long as you tear off your chads. (Tangent: The punchers are sharp. How on EARTH do you make them dimple, become pregnant, or hang? It must be Florida.) Of course, the whole concept of voting in person is remarkably quaint and antiquated to an Oregonian, where polling places disappeared when I was in elementary school. But they're phasing out in-person polling places in King County, so I figured I'd get my hits of nostalgia in before it disappears forever. Now that I'm done voting, I feel kind of meh and anxious since I don't know how anything is turning out yet.
I totally blame it on the lack of sticker.
