From T-Shirts to Terrorism: That Fake Nike Swoosh May Be Helping to Fund Bin Laden's Network

::smiles and nods:: Ohhh...kay. I could have sworn the reason people produce pirated software and fake designer-brand t-shirts was coz they cost too fucking much to buy legitimately. A worker's salary in China is about 65 US a month, much less than it would cost to buy a, say, Armani t-shirt here or in China. It also leads into the issue of Western culture and consumerism as status symbols, but I don't have time to get into it now.

Oh yeah, the CEO of Kroger, the parent company of Fred Meyer, makes about 2100 times the amount I do. What does your CEO make? (Ignore the AFL-CIO sponsorship, it is quite useful ^.^)
