Finished up season 2 of Babylon 5 and am anxiously awaiting the other box sets purchased on eBay to arrive.

Thoughts:

1. J. Michael Straczynski has read his Tolkien. Not just the big epic War Against the Shadow, but the little things-- some of the speeches, a random reference here and there indicate he's thought a lot about it.
2. Ivanova and Talia Winters? That was not subtext. That was waving "Hi! Lookit me! Hi hi!" supertext.
3. Nobody understands my love for Garibaldi/Franklin. Nobody. Of course, I am not discounting the great fondness people seem to have for Garibaldi/Sinclair, but I haven't seen season one yet, so I reserve my judgement.

I need slash, dammit. Got any?

I can dig out some recs, but er, most of them are Londo/G'Kar, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, so ...

...I am not sure whether to be amused or very very frightened that Londo/G'kar exists.

Londo/G'Kar totally exists (and the subtext grows steadily more obvious as the show continues).

OMG, yes. Susan/Talia 4eva! Now you know why I love that show (notwithstanding annoying Bruce Boxleitner as the Great White Hope of the Galaxy).

He's still not more annoying than Ben Browder as John Crichton on Farscape. When he goes crazy he gets kind of interesting, but otherwise, I just want to smack him whenever he's on screen.

Bruce Boxleitner isn't horrible as Great White Hopes go. He's a little too wholesome at times, but hopefully the rest of the series will make him a little less so.

Don't hold out hope for his diminished wholesomeness. If anything, he gets worse. It's actually kind of hilarious in some parts.
